About Ceremony

Ceremony is magical and transformational – it touches the soul, and supports anyone who is passing through an important change in their life. To declare joy for your true gender is something to be celebrated no less than a marriage or birth of a new child.

Unconventional ceremonies are often amongst the most beautiful.

Gender transition blessing

Gender difference is sacred. Let's celebrate this precious and beautiful gift.

One Spirit Interfaith Foundation - training interfaith ministers in the UK

One Spirit Interfaith Foundation
One Spirit Interfaith Foundation trains people to be Interfaith Ministers and offers cemonies, including wedding ceremonies and spiritual counselling to people of all faiths or none.

It's not necessary to be religious or to hold any particular belief to want to celebrate, mark and honour your gender transition, new name, or simply to give thanks for being who you are. My ministry is about working with people who don't identify with the gender of their birth, and those who don't fit with the traditional idea of a gender binary. It's my honour and privilege to minister to our multi-gendered community.

Being Trans is sacred

Taking a step into a new part of your life, whether after transitioning or by affirming your new gender identity, is a precious and sacred experience. This is a time when your new name (if relevant) and identity can be affirmed in front of whoever you wish to share your precous time of new beginning with, and a ceremony to mark your moving from one period of your life into another can be celebrated.

Ceremony is magical and transformational – it touches the soul, and supports anyone who is passing through an important change in their life. To declare joy for your true gender is something to be celebrated no less than a marriage or birth of a new child. It offers a special opportunity to honour your new life and to recognise the step that you have taken as being sacred.

As someone who finds myself close to the middle of the gender spectrum and often wanting to express both my masculine and feminine natures, I have come to see that being gender-fluid, having a non-binary sexuality, or knowing that your true identity doesn't fit with the sex of your birth is a beautiful gift from God, whoever or whatever you may perceive him, her or it to be (and, by the way, transgendered and pangendered people have a very honoured place in many faith traditions, as you can find out about here).

Please explore my website to find out about me, interfaith ministry, ceremony, my fees, and the work that I do. This includes offering blessings and ceremonies for people who have or who are changing gender, honouring their new name, or affirming the gender that they identify with. Whether seen as a rite of passage or other significant event for giving thanks for and celebrating the step that you have or are taking, as well as asking for happiness, peace and protection for the new chapter that has started for you, a ceremony can play a deeply moving part in acknowledging and affirming your true self.

Please give me a call or drop me a line to enquire about possible options for a ceremony for you – my contact details are below. I look forward to hearing from you and talking about how I might possibly be able to help you celebrate, give thanks and honour the precious gift of declaring who you are.

What is a ceremony? I offer my thoughts on the purpose and value of ceremony in this brief video. Simply click on the play button above to watch.
